    Citation Excerpt :

Overall, child incidence in the country is reported to be 17.7 cases/100,000,11 although wide geographical variation exists, with rates ranging from 7.8/100,000 in the Balearic islands to 32/100,000 in the island of La Palma (Canary Islands).12 Increasing incidence has been reported in some regions but, with current data, this cannot be considered a generalized trend.13 We present the incidence of childhood-onset T1D in the island of Gran Canaria during a 13-year period (2006–2018).
